It was with great determination and commitment that over the years, Sanindusa won the excellent brand image and confidence that has among its clients.
The success only served as a stimulus, but on the other hand was an invitation to face new challenges, with new technologies and the development of mechanisms for information and innovation to facilitate the provision of excellent service which characterize us. And do not talk only in the domestic market but also in foreign markets.
Since the beginning of labouring in 1993 the Group exported its products and today, I am pleased that we are present with our products in 84 countries, distributed by the 4 corners of the world. Foreign markets were, from the beginning of the activity, seen as essential for the growth that the administration set out to achieve.
Strategically management elected as main factors for success, quality, design, innovation, service and competitiveness.
With effort, skill and perseverance of all, we are now a globally recognized brand in the construction sector. And it is with great pride in the past that we constantly improve at all levels and thus face the future with great optimism.
HISTORY
The first unit of the Group was born in August 1991 with the establishment of Indusa – Indústria de Sanitários, Lda. corporation.
In February of the following year its construction begins and in May 1993 starts the production of Vitreous sanitary ware. During one year, it doubles it´s production capacity and the number of employees.
In little time it conquers consumer confidence and consolidates a quality image. The next step in business strategy came naturally, developing into an integrated range of product solutions, under a concept of global bathroom.
1997
In 1997 it acquired Grau – Fábrica de Torneiras e Acessórios, S.A. The production starts two years later, completing the existing product range, with the development of lever and dual control mixers for bathroom and kitchen, as well as accessories and other complementary products.
Following this, another unit is inaugurated in 1998, beginning the production of bathtubs, simple and hydro massage, shower trays and hydro columns in acrylic sheet.
2000
In August 2000 a new corporation is born, Sanindusa 2, production starts two years later, continuing the manufacture of sanitary ware in Vitreous China.
This is an ambitious project and an example of technological innovation in the sector. Using the most advanced technology process available today, is designed from a productive resources rationalization point of view, integrated global management process and consequent optimization of quality of manufactured products.
2001
In 2001 a new stage is outlined, by directing the product to a more specific segment, architects and interior designers. The start of a new production unit of ceramic pieces in fine fire clay, it initiates this phases fulfillment. This material allows a wider range of products, enabling more diverse technical and aesthetic development solutions.
2003
In December 2003, the Sanindusa Group acquires the Spanish sanitary ware production company - Unisan. Sanindusa sees the number of companies grow to four which make-up the Sanindusa Group.
The acquisition of this company is part of the company's internationalization strategy, which looks at the Iberian market with great potential.
The Sanindusa UK, Limited company, was established in 2011, owned 100% by Sanindusa – Indústria de Sanitários, SA, in order to promote the commercialization of Sanindusa´s products in the UK.
In the year 2012, Unisan restructuring process was concluded, having their production been transferred to Tocha and Mamodeiro units, maintaining as a commercial entity of the Group in Spain.
Sanindusa today can be proud of having conquered in a few years a prominent place in a sector characterized by strong business groups. It´s journey is valued for being the largest company in the Iberian Peninsula with equity and national capitals, sanitary ware and complementary producer products.

QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENT
The Sanindusa group has quality and environmental management systems certificated according with the normative reference NP EN ISO 9001 since 2003, with regard to the following scope:
- Design, production and sales of ceramic sanitaryware.
- Design, production and sales of equipments for bathroom suites and kitchens.
The ceramic units and finished product warehouse, are also certificated according the normative reference NP EN ISO 14001 and EU Eco-Management and Audit Sheme (EMAS) since 2005, with regard to the following scope:
- Design, production and sales of ceramic sanitaryware and sales of equipments for bathroom suites and kitchens.
The certification of quality and environmental management systems in accordance with the normative reference mentioned, allows to demonstrate the commitment of the organization with quality of it is products and services, customer satisfaction and the worry to improve it is environmental performance.
Annually, the Sanindusa group define goals for it is quality and environmental management systems, which are monitored throughout the year with purpose to continuous improvement.
